Give to the SOJC
You can give to the School of Journalism and Communication through the
UO Foundation in any amount and in many different ways. Following are a
few examples.
What to Give
- Cash
- Securities (stocks and bonds)
- Real estate (such as your home, vacation home, rental, or commercial
property)
- Personal property (such as artwork, rare books, jewelry, furniture,
or boats)
- Corporate match (employee gift that is matched by certain employers)
- Gift-in-kind (a valuable service or usable goods)
- Retirement plan
- Life insurance policy
- Interest in a business (closely held stock or partnership interest)
How to Give
- Make a gift for current use, either unrestricted or for a designated
purpose
- Create an endowment, which distributes a small percentage each year
to the school for the gift purpose and reinvests the rest so the fund
will continue to grow and support the gift purpose in perpetuity.
- Make a gift that pays you income during your life—such as a charitable
remainder trust or gift annuity—and benefits the university after
your death or a loved one's death
- Give an asset for a period of time that later reverts to family members
(charitable lead trust)
- Make a bequest in your will
