New faculty welcomed to Allen Hall

A recent SOJC Ph.D. graduate with a research focus on Latin America and an advertising creative with decades of teaching experience were welcomed as new members of the SOJC faculty this fall. Gabriela Martinez, a documentary filmmaker from Peru began in September as an Assistant Professor in the school’s Electronic Media Major. Deborah Morrison began as a visitng associate professor in the school’s advertising major. Both are welcome additions to the faculty, according to SOJC Dean Tim Gleason. “Gabriela’s experience as a filmmaker and interdisciplinary focus on Latin America expand the school’s view. And Deborah’s experience and maintained connection with the advertising industry—including serving as the only academic on the board of directors of the ONE Club for Art and Copy in New York—will greatly enhance our students’ experience in the advertising major.
