  New scholarships awarded
 
John and Marybeth Egan, the parents of John Egan '93, attended graduation, where they presented the first John Edward Egan II Memorial Scholarship to Zachary Mull, a pre-major in electronic media. The scholarship honors Egan, who moved to Hollywood after graduating to pursue his dream of becoming a screen-writer. Egan died in 1996.
 
 
Katie Edlin, '02 receives the Bruce Dworshak Memorial Scholarship with Bruce's parents Mike and Agnes Dworshak and Dean Tim Gleason. The scholarship was recently established in honor of Bruce, a 1975 graduate who led a distinguished career as a press operations specialist. Bruce died in April, 2002.   In addition, two other new scholarships were awarded this year. The Ann Curry Scholarship was awarded to Danielle Perez, a senior majoring in electronic media. The Charles and Eiko Politz Fund for a Graduate Scholarship in Journalistic Writing was awarded to Elizabeth Werhane, a literary nonfiction master's student.
